With Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in the chair, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet on Thursday decided to repeal the Ehtesab Commission Act, 2014.
In a brief chat with reporters after the cabinet meeting, Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai said the cases pending with the commission would be shifted to the provincial Anti-Corruption Establishment. To a question, he said that regular employees of the commission would either be given golden handshake or sent to the surplus pool. The minister said amendments were being made to the Anti-Corruption Establishment laws to further strengthen the department in a bid to discourage corrupt practices in the provinces.
