Petronet Aviation Pvt Ltd (PETRO), a private aviation company working in unison with Green Tourism Pvt Ltd (GTPL) for tourism promotion in Pakistan, is planning to establish first ever dedicated helicopter service for Search and Rescue in GB, in collaboration with other European SAR (Search and Rescue) aviation organizations i.e. Air Zermatt of Switzerland and AVIA MEA of Italy.
In same connection, the Company undertook a week long training of Rescue 1122 GB rescue staff at Petronet facility in Skardu during 25-29 Nov. Qualified and seasoned (ex-military) SAR Instructors imparted quality training to the participants. At the culmination of training, the participants were awarded with certificates. Apart from the PETRO Staff, present on the occasion were DC Shigar, Skardu Manager Civil Aaviation Authority, Manager PIA Skardu, OC Airport Security Force Skardu airport and other local area guests. PETRO intends to undertake 3-4 more such training sessions before March 2025, prior to launching the helicopter SAR service in June next year.
